Getting Content Indexed By Google Quickly

In this screencast, we talk about three quick and easy ways you can get content indexed quicker by Google. Kelvin takes you through how to use Ping-O-Matic to ping multiple services and search engines with updates about your content; how to use Twitter to speed up the process by bringing focus to your site; and by pinging search engines, which is particularly useful if you have an XML sitemap.

Thanks for some useful tips Kelvin, I can’t believe I’ve never used ping-o-matic before, wrongly assumed it wasn’t that effective.

A good tip for ecommerce sites who regularly add lots of new pages all the time is to use their blog to get them indexed. A good blog should have a new post indexed very quickly these days (mine if often less than 1 minute) and if you link to all your new product pages from this blog post they get indexed within about 10mins.

If you don’t want people to see a post with just a list of products you can put it in a category few people will see and delete it once all the product pages are indexed. I know the effectiveness of this method will vary between sites, but I honestly get hundreds of new product pages rapidly indexed at a time and wouldn’t consider my site overly powerful tbh.

Yet another reason to have a company blog!

This a good and a different thing and interesting. I find it so useful one thing for businesses as they have to add new products to their sites. And it works very speedily that’s a good point.
