Clever Tricks You Can Do With Google Alerts

In this screencast, we talk about different way to use the really powerful tool Google Alerts. There are a lot of uses for Google Alerts, like monitoring when your site is mentioned, seeing if you’ve been hacked, seeing who links to you, see when new pages are being indexed and using it to automatically seed content to your Twitter feed.

    Kelvin – that was useful. You can also use advanced search to refine an alert, eg putting minus sign in front of a word you want excluded. I do this for one of my clients as it has a name that’s also associated with medical terms!

    BTW, did you mean to de-focus the screen shots towards the end of the cast?
