SEO Manager Job

SiteVisibility is seeking a bright and enthusiastic individual for the role of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Manager. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in leading web projects and SEO campaigns from initial analysis and strategy phases, through to technical implementation and ongoing campaign management. As a specialist in organic search, you will have a proven track record in delivering exceptional organic search results in highly competitive markets. The role is a client facing one and also comes with line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver UK and international SEO projects for large websites with 10,000-100,000+ pages.
  • Assess the client’s current website limitations and SEO performance.
  • Undertake online sector and competitor analysis.
  • Perform keyword research using industry standard tools.
  • Complete 360 degree technical audits of websites including making recommendations to improve information architecture, keyword taxonomy, meta data, content optimisation and usability.
  • Implement technical developments from changing tags using CMS to designing and launching search optimised campaign websites and blogs.
  • Develop and implement innovative link building strategies.
  • Liaise with clients regarding their SEO performance.
  • Manage and coach a multi-disciplinary team to deliver client projects on time and budget.
  • Be a key point of knowledge on SEO, constantly keeping up-to-date on new trends.
  • To research and test new SEO techniques and to feed these back into the organisation’s SEO best practices.
  • To keep up to date and report on search engine updates.
  • Solid hands-on understanding of web analytics especially GA and how to set and measure KPIs.
  • Support the sales and marketing functions within the business where required.

Key Skills

  • At least 5 years experience of SEO, Analytics, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, web design, multi-variant testing and e-commerce conversion analysis.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues across a range of different website types including traffic generation and e-commerce.
  • Proven track record of evolving strategies to continually improve site and search performance to agreed targets.
  • Expert knowledge of content management systems, in particular Joomla and WordPress.
  • Customer focused with first class interpersonal, presentation, organisational and communication skills capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Some experience in using standard software such as Dreamweaver MX, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash would be a distinct advantage
  • Line management and team development experience.
  • Some experience in conversion marketing, social media, online PR, email marketing, affiliate marketing, display advertising, mobile technologies, podcasting and video would be a distinct advantage
  • Any knowledge of server side code: JSP, ASP, PHP, Perl/CGI, XSLT, SQL, Linux/Unix systems would be highly beneficial.
