It's just over a month until our #BrightonSEO conference at the Corn Exchange. There are some great speakers and presentations planned, but we were still surprised when tickets sold out in less than half an hour.

Brighton SEO is part of the Brighton Digital Marketing Festival, which is a season of exhibitions, performances, meetings, workshops and outdoor events of which we are a part.

We're happy to welcome several new clients to the Think Tank this month. SpaSeekers, Scribbler, The Finance & Leasing Association and the Financial Management Centre have all joined the fold this month. We’re looking forward to sharing great results on all these campaigns.

We proudly presented a prize for the 'Best Digital Media Student' at the University of Brighton Digital Media Awards on the 27th of July. Anna Fletcher was the 7th annual winner of the trophy and cheque.

Integrated Search Innovation

One of the biggest stories of the month in digital was the roll-out of Google+, Google’s new social networking service. Integrating social services such as Google Profiles & Buzz, and introducing new services such as Circles, Hangouts, Sparks and Huddles, it's available as a website, desktop & mobile application for Android and iOS. It’s been seen as their latest attempt to dethrone Facebook, which has reached over 750 million users as of this year.

Whether Google+ will replace Facebook remains to be seen, but as digital marketers we’re interested in how content on the network will influence search results and how we use the web. Kelvin prepared an interesting post for the Econsultancy blog about Google+’s Social Signals.

On the blog our ABC of SEO season continued, with C for Content and D for Directories. There were also pieces about secondments, our Search Innovation Seminar and factors to consider when choosing between a search marketing agency and investing in an in-house resource. Kelvin has published several posts about Google+, as well as screencasts about Mail Chimp, Raven Tools, Canonicalization, Identifying a niche, Google Local Business Listings and an Internet Marketing Podcast Q&A session. Dan Pelling, our Paid Search Marketing Manager also published a post about recent changes in the appearance of PPC adverts.
