In this episode of the Internet Marketing Podcast, Andy is joined by Simon Jacobson, SMB Lead for the UK and Ireland at Microsoft Search Advertising to discuss why Bing is a must-consider for marketers.
Simon is responsible for Microsoft’s Bing Ads in the UK across Small and Mid-sized businesses and has worked in the search industry for about 12 years. He explains that despite his experience, he continues to be excited and inspired about the industry.
Simon discusses how the dynamic is obviously changing, with social, platforms, devices, context & mobile – but that despite this, people always come back to search and it shows in its spend growth. He says how, according to the IAB, search is expected to overtake TV in terms of ad spend and so to traditional advertisers that is almost the verification for search to kick on.
Simon goes on to explain how with the introduction of things like voice search, Cortana, AI, bots & new platforms, that the industry is on the cusp of change, leading to a very exciting next wave of growth for search.
Simon then explores what makes Microsoft so unique today and what his biggest challenges are when talking to customers and partners.
